My Story

Warm Pacific Greetings, My name is Lette, and I am delighted to share a bit about myself with you. 
Born in American Samoa and raised between American Samoa and Apia, Samoa, I was fortunate to grow up immersed in the vibrant Polynesian culture in my homeland. My passion for dance was ignited by my mother, who was one of the main Samoan dancers representing Samoa Tourism in the early 90s. Watching her graceful movements and witnessing the power of dance, I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps and explore other pacific cultures. 

Throughout my journey, I have been blessed with incredible opportunities to travel to various countries, showcasing the beauty and richness of our Polynesian cultures through dance. These experiences have not only allowed me to share our traditions but have also deepened my appreciation for the universal language of dance.

In 2016, I made the bold decision to move to Melbourne, Australia. It was here that I founded a dance group, which presented me with numerous challenges. However, these challenges also served as valuable lessons, teaching me that I was capable of achieving so much more through the art of dance.

In 2019, I took another significant step in my career by establishing a Polynesian academy. This endeavor has provided me with the incredible opportunity to teach and inspire hundreds of students through classes, workshops, and one-on-one sessions. Witnessing the growth and transformation of my students has been immensely rewarding, and it fuels my passion to continue sharing the beauty and cultural significance of Polynesian dance.

In 2021, my life took a beautiful turn as I welcomed my precious daughter into the world. Motherhood has been an incredible experience, showing me the boundless love and joy that comes with nurturing and raising a child. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic during that same time, I remained determined to continue running my classes and workshops. Adapting to the circumstances, I embraced online platforms alongside in-person sessions at dance studios, ensuring that the spirit of Polynesian dance continued to thrive.

In 2023, I am excited to be back and ready to embark on a new chapter. Starting slowly, I am offering private workshops, running classes, and providing one-on-one sessions. It is a joy to reconnect with my students and witness their growth and passion for dance.

I am truly grateful for the journey I have embarked upon and the experiences that have shaped me as a dancer and creative director. It is my mission to preserve and promote the authenticity of Polynesian dance while fostering inclusivity and unity through our shared love for this art form.

I am forever blessed for the individuals who have crossed my path, especially those who have taught me the art of dancing during my formative years. Their guidance and inspiration have shaped me into the dancer and creative director I am today. Behind every successful endeavor, there is a supportive community, and I am incredibly fortunate to have a small village that stands by me and supports my vision. Their unwavering belief in me and my work fuels my determination to continue promoting and preserving the beauty of Polynesian dance."
